 For my birthday last month my beautiful wife decided to give me something special... you can guess what it is ;). She rally up some amazing friends and family to buy me a much wanted acoustic guitar!
We went to the shop the day after my birthday to pick a guitar... we browsed the store and nothing really jumped at me. So I was like well I really want this particular guitar that a friend has (jonny tups' cort). So we ordered it and pay for it right then and there... $750 or so. Gordie (store owner) tells me it should be here within a week, i'll give you a call.
After what seemed the longest week in the year, I called the store only to find out that there was a strike on the warehouse and they were 1 month behind in orders... "we don't have an estimate for your guitar"... Well, not much I can do now but wait! After 3 weeks or so, I took my elec in for some tune up and what not and asked Gordie once more if he had heard anything yet. "No man, i'm really sorry. However..." He pulls out this beautiful guitar and says "this is an $1800 guitar [by this time i'm thinking, right like i have that much money] some guy that collects guitars ordered it but never actually bought it. Let me see if we can arrange something." Anyways, it turns out that it would be more expensive for both the shop and the warehouse to ship it back and try to resale it than just giving a deal on it to someone else. That someone else was me.
A week later (a month later altogether by now) we talk again and he says "well I talked them into giving you a deal on the $1800 guitar... how does paying only an extra $100 on what you've already payed sound?" BAM WHAM THANK YOU MA'AM!
The longest month yet so worth it! THANK YOU!
PS: yes Andy, I think we're guitar twins but i'm not 100% sure, mine is a Cort NTL CE Custom with some added stuff (not sure what the added stuff is)

| Oh boy... the last couple of weeks were a bit nutty trying to find a place for us to move. Nothing wrong with our current place but you know it gets kinda crammed when you have 2 people living in a semi-bachelor suite plus a pile of wedding gifts which, by the way, most are still in boxes in the kitchen floor since we have no where to put them.
Anyways, it'll started when Ira offered us his new basement suite on his sweet new house... amazing offer, but we had to decline because it was quite inconvenient for the bus route... and so it began... I didn't remember it being this hard.... I mean, our criteria wasn't all that demanding... good location, decent size (2br), decent price, decent landlords... is that too much to ask?
Here's how it roughly went down
Place #1: Nice location, gorgeous place and roomy, super nice landlord, waaaay too expensive - PASS
Place #2: "yeah we would like to come see the suite... yeah just come by, I won't be there but i'll leave the key for you to get in somewhere.... yeah i think it's a green door you have to go through, oh yeah i'm not sure if the current tenant is gone or not, just go in.....ok?!?".....Some dingy hole that reeked like cat in - PASS
Place #3: Awesome place, good price, big, nice landlords, up at the very top of triangle mountain - PASS
Place #4: Sweet location, super nice landlords, good price, the tiny-est 2br suite i've ever seen - PASS

...
Place #7: Good location, Huge gorgeous place, Amazing deal (everything included with cable, internet, etc) for the very cheap... "awesome we want to apply.... oh by the way, you don't mind me smoking pot everyday right?....?!?!?!?! no thanks"... Landlord's a pothead - PASS

Place #10: Great location, Great size, Great landlords, Just a lil' more than we would like to pay - OURS
3rd floor brand new condo on the buildings on goldstream and the parkway..... pic to follow eventually... maybe next year lol!!!
May 1st is the big day... call me if you wanna help ;).... just wait for the paaaaarty!!!!

On my way home today, I stepped out of the bus and started walking home as the snow was all over me... gentle flakes hitting my face... gentle flakes dancing all around as The Scientist came on on my iPod... it was epic... it was one of those movie moments when time seems to stop and it's nothing but you and God and there's an epic soundtrack in the background.
I love God...
His creation is perfect...
everything around is perfect...
